Welcome to The Tended Ground

There is something sacred about tending the ground.

Not just the soil beneath our feet, but the unseen places within us that require patience, care, and intention. The Tended Ground began in my own backyard, with a few raised beds, a handful of herbs, and a quiet desire to slow down. What started as growing basil, mint, and rosemary gradually became something deeper. As I planted, watered, harvested, and blended loose-leaf teas to support my own health, I realized I was learning far more than how to grow herbs. I was learning about faith. About discipline. About provision. About the steady, quiet way God works.

The Tended Ground is rooted in a simple belief: much of what we need for healing and growth has already been placed in creation. The process of tending a plant mirrors the process of tending a life. Seeds do not rush. Roots grow in hidden places. Healing often happens slowly and quietly before it becomes visible. And none of it requires perfection—only participation.

This space exists for those who are seeking a simpler way forward.

Maybe you’re here because you’re exploring herbal remedies for stress, gut health, or rest. Maybe you’re tired of complicated wellness systems that demand everything at once. Maybe you are deep in your faith and looking to experience it in a more embodied way. Or maybe you are simply curious—wondering if there is a way to grow personally and spiritually that feels grounded, gentle, and real.

Here at The Tended Ground, we will talk about herbs. We will talk about loose-leaf teas and the lessons learned from growing and drying them. We will talk about tending soil and tending habits. We will explore seasonal rhythms, stewardship, simplicity, and the ways faith can be understood through nature rather than abstract concepts alone.

But more than anything, this blog is an invitation.

“Behold I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?” – Isaiah 43:19

An invitation to slow down. An invitation to participate in your own healing. An invitation to believe that growth does not have to be overwhelming. An invitation to cultivate what has already been entrusted to you.

You do not need a homestead. You do not need acres of land. You do not need to know everything about herbalism. You only need a willingness to begin—with a cup of tea, a small plant, a quiet moment of reflection.

The Tended Ground is not about escaping life. It is about learning to live it more intentionally. It is about recognizing that tending something outside of yourself often clarifies what needs tending within.

If these values resonate with you—faith expressed through action, healing through simplicity, growth through stewardship—then you are already part of this community.

Welcome to The Tended Ground.

Let’s grow well together. 🌿
